What are Chemical Peels?

Chemical peel treatments are non-invasive cosmetic procedures for the face and body. They improve the skin’s appearance, quality, and health through deep exfoliation. As a result, the outer skin peels off, revealing fresh and smooth skin.

The chemical peel procedure treats several skin complications, from sun damage to acne scars, melasma, hyperpigmentation, and uneven skin tone. So, if you experience any of these conditions, our chemical peel procedure is right for you.

Our clinic’s specialists will consider your needs and goals and choose the most suitable treatment method for you.

This treatment can be combined with the following procedures:

Advanced Facials

– IPL

– Ultraformer III (HIFU)

– Infini RF Microneedling

– Anti Wrinkle Injections

– Dermal Fillers

The combination of treatments can be discussed at your consultation following with the bespoke treatment plan.

Before

The preparation for your treatment will depend on many factors such as: your skin tone, your concern, the area being treated and the strength of the peel you are going to have.

If you are of skin types 4-6 you may need to prep for a few weeks using a melanocyte suppressor to reduce the risk of post inflammatory pigmentation.

It is also advised to stop using any exfoliants such as retinol and tretinoin for at least 2-3 weeks before.

You will also be required to use hyaluronic acid serums to strengthen your skin barrier prior to the treatment.

At the Continental Skin Clinic, we understand that your goals are unique, so our chemical peel process is never a one-size-fits-all. We’ve got you covered.

After

After your procedure, you may experience temporary redness, irritation, and swollen skin.

Your skin will be very sensitive and will be vulnerable to infection. Therefore it is important to use anti-bacterial wash and to avoid touching it. The specific aftercare will be provided to you during your consultation.

It is also important to not moisturise the skin for at least 3-4 days after treatment and protect it from sun exposure.

Choosing the best chemical peel can be daunting but it doesn’t have to be. At the Continental Skin Clinic, we provide certified chemical peel experts who take the required steps to help get the most out of your procedure.
