Lip pigmentation is a challenge for many people. No one wants discoloured, pigmented lips due to ageing, smoking, dehydration or sun exposure. Also, pigmentation on lips affect the colour of makeup.
We offer several lip pigmentation treatments for such as laser lip-lightening and semi-permanent make up as effective solutions.
Laser lip lightening treatment is non-invasive, painless and effective. It breaks down pigment in the lips and improves the appearance of discolouration by fading out the pigment in the skin.
Semi permanent make up utilises different specialised inks and pigments that are applied into the skin to neutralise and mask out the pigmentation without breaking down the actual pigment.
Our preferred approach is to start by actually breaking down the pigment via laser before we consider masking it with semi permanent makeup. However, the choice of treatment and approach will be affected by factors such as: skin type, commitment, budgets and certainty of the outcome etc.
So, if you want to achieve lips’ natural shine, we are the right clinic to help. Book your consultation with the best lip pigmentation treatment specialists in London. Contact us today to schedule an appointment.
How do you prepare for your lip pigmentation treatment? We suggest following specific practices for a successful procedure. But first, schedule a consultation with our specialists to discuss your goals and needs before treatment.
We suggest you refrain from using tanning beds, and limit sun exposure 30 days before your session. Also, any laser hair removal in the lip area, or chemical peels on the face should be avoided 7 days before your treatment. Finally, on the day of your appointment, avoid wearing makeup.
We suggest maximum sun protection for 30 days after your treatment. We also recommend applying a lip balm containing spf30+ reapplied throughout the day.
You may notice slight erythema and swelling to the lip area, however this will subside after a couple of hours.
Our aestheticians will advise all necessary after-care to follow after the treatment to maximise your results, and avoid any complications.
Laser Lip Bleaching
Laser is scientifically proven to break down the pigment in the skin. Similar to how laser removes tattoos ink and treats hyperpigmentation, it is used to break down the pigment in the lips.
Lip Hydrating Injection
Lips appear darker due to ageing & dehydration. Lip hydration injections are similar to skin booster injections that contain ingredients such as peptides, vitamin c, and hyaluronic acid. These injections boost the hydration in the lips and improve the appearance of pigmentation and lines.
Glutathione IM Booster
Glutathione is a powerful antioxidant that detoxifies the body, gently and gradually brightening the overall complexion, resulting in an even skin tone, which includes the lips.
Semi Permanent Make-Up
Using a unique tattooing method, our professionals are able to transform discolouration in the lip area, allowing you to achieve your desired shade. Lip neutralisation helps to conceal hyperpigmentation, resulting in a more even colour.
Why is it important to complete the course until the end?
The patchiness could sometimes happen as we cannot predict how the pigmentation will break down, it is usually with people whose pigmentation is very superficial. This is a good sign that shows that pigmentation can break down faster. During the course of treatments, this may be expected, on a rare occasion. However, there is nothing to worry about, as we have to continue doing the laser until the whole tone is evened out.
Most of the cases would be similar to the examples below with even gradual fading and even tone.
As everyone’s skin is individual, there are some cases where the difference will be minimal or not at all. For better understanding, we offer a personalised consultation where we can assess skin pigmentation.
Our lip bleaching laser treatment works by lightening the entire lip area.

Once results have been achieved, they are long lasting specially with regular maintenance and aftercare. Therefore, we recommend booking a consultation session with our specialists to discover the suitable treatments needed for long-lasting results.
Laser lip lightening is used to break down the pigment in the lip area, after which the body naturally expels it via the lymphatic system. Whereas lip neutralisation is used to mask the pigmentation in the lips. Both are effective lip pigmentation treatments, but work in different ways.
Our laser lip lightening treatment causes no significant side effects. Although you may experience mild redness in the treatment area after your treatment, it fades in a few hours. However, we suggest following the post-treatment instructions suggested by our specialists to avoid any complications that may happen after.
Lip lightening creams and serums contain ingredients that can help target pigmentation. However, they will not work as in-depth as a lip pigmentation done in clinic by a professional. We recommend pairing the two for optimal results. Here at Continental Skin Clinic, we offer creams and serums that can be used at home after treatment in the clinic.
A glutathione treatment can improve skin pigmentation, reduce the appearance of dark spots and blemishes, and promote a brighter and more even skin tone.
With semi permanent makeup we can create a pink hue via tattooing, that can serve as a quicker treatment for clients seeking immediate results.
We offer lip hydrating injections to add hydration and plumpness to the lip area, without altering their shape or volume.

What can I expect during Laser Lip Bleaching treatment?

On an average, 10 treatments are needed, 2-3 weeks apart, but this can vary on individual cases. Final results are visible 3 months after the last session.
Can laser lighten dark lips permanently?
