LaseMD Ultra™ in London is a 1927nm fractional thulium laser designed to improve pigmentation, dullness, sun damage and uneven texture with minimal downtime. Because this wavelength is highly absorbed by water, it creates controlled micro-injury within the skin while preserving the surface barrier. As a result, you achieve gradual brightening and collagen support without aggressive ablation.

Why Pigmentation and Dullness Persist
Sun exposure, inflammation and ageing disrupt normal cell turnover. Because excess melanin sits within the epidermis and dermal-epidermal junction, skin tone can appear uneven or patchy. In addition, slowed renewal leads to roughness and loss of radiance.

How LaseMD Ultra™ Works
The 1927nm thulium laser creates multiple microchannels within the skin while leaving the stratum corneum largely intact. Because the surface barrier remains preserved, downtime stays minimal compared to fully ablative lasers.
These microchannels form two key zones beneath the surface:
- A superficial reservoir where tissue with sufficient water content is gently ablated
- A deeper coagulation zone where controlled thermal energy stimulates collagen remodelling
As a result, you stimulate repair and brightening without fully removing the epidermis. The 1927nm wavelength is lower in energy than CO₂ 10600nm or Er:YAG 2940nm lasers, so it is less aggressive while still effective .
Laser-Assisted Drug Delivery (LADD)
One of the key advantages of LaseMD Ultra™ is Laser-Assisted Drug Delivery. The microchannels created by the laser allow nano-sized active ingredients to penetrate more effectively into the dermal-epidermal junction .
We use specially formulated ampoules containing stabilised active ingredients such as Vitamin C, Vitamin A, Tranexamic Acid and Resveratrol . Because these are prepared at the time of treatment and free from unnecessary preservatives, penetration remains optimised and controlled .
Therefore, you can achieve stronger brightening and rejuvenation compared to laser alone.

What to Expect After Treatment
You may experience redness and mild swelling immediately after treatment. A light crust can form within a few days and typically sheds naturally within 5–7 days.
During the first 48 hours, microchannels remain open. Therefore, we provide structured post-care guidance to maximise absorption and protect the barrier.
Strict daily SPF 30+ remains essential for at least 20 days after treatment. In addition, you should avoid retinoids and exfoliating acids unless advised.
Optimal outcomes usually require 3–5 sessions spaced 2–4 weeks apart . As a result, brightness and texture improve progressively rather than instantly.
