The Science Behind The PRP Hair Treatment
This week, we wanted to explore the science behind the platelet-rich plasma treatment for hair loss. One of our top in-house Doctors, Dr Mariem, has answered the most frequently asked questions about our PRP Hair Treatment. Keep reading on for more!
What is PRP?
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is obtained from the patient’s blood by drawing blood from the patient and putting it into a centrifuge machine to separate the plasma from it. The plasma contains platelets, polynucleotides, growth factors, cytokines, chemokines, and other biomolecules like fibrinogen and fibronectin. Platelet-rich plasma can be used as a skin booster and a hair-loss treatment! This is why the medical skincare community is obsessed with them!Â
How does Platelet-Rich Plasma for hair loss work?
PRP hair therapy stimulates hair growth and thickness and also prevents the hair follicles from shedding prematurely. Platelet-rich plasma provides nutrition to the hair, making it healthier and more dense.Â
How does PPR hair therapy affect males suffering from alopecia?
The men who suffer from alopecia and male pattern baldness benefit the most from PRP hair therapy. It stimulates the hair follicles, causing new hair to sprout. Furthermore, the shafts of the existing hair are thicker and healthier, making it look more dense. If that wasn’t enough, platelet-rich plasma also strengthens the hair’s roots, making them resistant to fall and restoring hair.Â
How does hair look dense after PRP hair therapy?
After PRP hair therapy, there is less shaft breakage, less hair fall, and thick hair shaft and new hair sprouting from hair follicles, all this together make hair look more dense and healthy.
How does PRP affect stress-related hair loss?
With PRP, hair is nourished, and hence, it overcomes the effect of stress-related hairlessness. In times of stress, food intake is less, and because of fewer vitamins and minerals in our diet, our hair is affected directly, and starts shedding off. So when one area is targeted in terms of providing nutrition, then it becomes stronger, and hence, hair fall stops and new hair comes. Also, PRP overcomes the effect of hormone-related hair loss in times of stress.
Final words
In conclusion, PRP hair therapy not only helps to make hair healthy and thick but also boosts confidence and overall appearance. With a dense hairline, you will look 10 years younger than your present age.Â
